Hands care

Why hands care is necessary? Just like the skin on your face, your hands also need some attention as your hands make a very strong first impression to show your age. You should exfoliate your hands to remove dirt and dead skin cells to leave your skin smoother and softer.

Keeping your hands looking youthful is not hard, and can be achieved with few simple routine just follow these steps.

  • Wear Gloves

People who spend a lot of time with their hands in contact with water while doing dishes or while using harsh chemicals should wear rubber gloves.

After applying moisturizer at night cover your hands with gloves, it will smooth your hand’s skin.

  • Protect the skin

The direct sun exposure can dry out the all body parts and the hands are no exception. Protecting the hands with quality sun block can prevent the sun to dry them.

  • Wash your hands

It’s very important to keep your hands clean by using moisturizing soap that contains shear butter, olive oil or aloe Vera. Antibacterial soap or hand wash can dry out the skin.

Always wash your hands with Luke warm water all year round. Very hot or very cold water can damage the skin.

  • Apply Moisturizer

Try to put on a little moisturiser after every hand washing. This keeps hands soft and hydrate. Use a good quality hand moisturizer in form of lotion or cream and apply on hands at least thrice a day after you have washed.

  • Massage

Massage your hands at night for at least five minutes to absorb moisturiser properly. For rough hands mix your moisturizer with few drops of almond oil, jojoba oil or coconut oil.

  • Scrubbing

Scrub your hands at least once a week with exfoliating agent hand scrub to exfoliate dead skin. Buy a good quality hand scrub from any drug store or make it at home your own scrub with natural ingredients if you want to try something different.

  1. Mix 2 teaspoon lemon juice, 2 teaspoon honey and 2 teaspoon baking soda in a bowl. Apply this mixture on your hands and massage for 2-3 minutes. Leave the mixture on your hands for 5 to 10 minutes then wash with Luke warm water.
  2. Take 1 teaspoon olive oil and 1 teaspoon of sugar, mix them gently. Rub the mixture on hands for 5 to 10 minutes. Olive oil is an excellent skin moisturizer and sugar removes dead skin cells and lighten the skin tone.

Dry hands

Dry hands is a very common issue by environmental influences. People who live in cold, dry climate or work in water frequently have more painful dry hands than others.

The lack of moisturizer causes dry skin and hands also. People, such as doctors or nurses who wash their hands a lot have more dry hands.

Here are some tips for dry hands.

  • Apply moisturiser

When your hands become extremely dry and cracked you have to use more intensive moisture than a regular hand cream. You should apply hand cream or ointment after every hand wash

  • Avoid soap

Try to avoid soap. Chemicals in soaps can have drying effects on hands. It is better to wash hands with moisturizer soaps or mild hand wash.

  •  Apply Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a very common ingredient used in skin products. Aloe Vera has anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties, it can be applied as a natural moisturizer.

  • Glycerine Mixture

Mix a tablespoon of glycerine with equal amount of rose water and add few drops of lemon juice. Cover your hands with the mixture and rub gently, apply twice a day.

  • Egg Yolk Treatment

put an egg yolk in a small bowl add 1 teaspoon of honey , ½ teaspoon of almond oil and few drops of rose water.

Massage well into your hands for 10 minutes, leave for 10 minutes more then rinse with water.

  • Homemade Cream

Make your own hand cream of butter and almond oil. Put 2 teaspoons of butter and 1 teaspoon of almond oil in a small bowl. Blend well and rub on your hands until absorbed. Rinse gently with lukewarm water.

  • Hand Mask

Even if you moisturize your hands daily it’s necessary to use a hand mask once a week to hydrate and keeps the hands soft. You can purchase hand mask from market or can make at home.

  1. Mix ½ an avocado with 1 egg white and apply it to your hands for 20 minutes.
  2. Mix 1 spoon of raw milk, half spoon of honey and 1 spoon of lime juice well. Apply on hands then wash.
